Name: Cassia Yount (I intentionally tried to make a weird name, as such things are common in Gundam shows.)
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Faction: Earth Federation
Rank: Chief Petty Officer (CPO)
Place of Birth: Perth, Australia
Personality: Cassia is a young woman with high energy. She is often talkative, enthusiastic and friendly with her fellow soldiers. She is very fond of parties and friendly competition. She has a habit of making jokes and quips, even in combat, though this is often to just keep herself cool headed along with her teammates. Despite perhaps seeming unprofessional, she is hard worker, punctual, and responds well to criticism. She works well under pressure in that she does not freeze up or hesitate. She is a woman of action and reaction. It may not be the best decision, it may even be from panic or fear, or even charging into battle without thinking, but she's always in action.
While she does particularity like taking orders, she understands it is what she must do to fulfill her goals and luckily there are superiors that she respects like Rear Admiral Jacobs. These things largely keep her in line. She may question orders and even outright disobey ones she thinks will get herself and her team mates killed or that she finds morally deplorable. This may get her into serious trouble, and she has no qualms with taking responsibility for her actions. While she tries to be most professional and do her job well, she clearly has her own life she wants to get back to after the war, and she is only using the military as method of selfish payback. One could argue she a not a "true soldier" or "patriot." Regardless, she is in this fight like everybody else.
Appearance:
Cassia is a tall young woman with a medium frame, 175cm and 66kg. She has brown hair and eyes, along with dark skin, and is clearly of African descent. When in her civvies, she tends to dress rather youthfully.
History:
Cassia Yount was born in Perth, Australia. She was the eldest of three children. Ever since she was a child, she had a passion for creating, even since she got her first blocks. However, there were always two people who knock her creations down. While she grew up in a loving home, because her mother worked long hours and had father had the night shift as a security guard, she often has to look after her younger siblings. While she was certainly never without a play mate, sometimes, Cassia needed an escape.
Cassia was very much fond of the family she had in Sydney. One of cousins, Roger, was the closest to her own age, and the two got along swimmingly. He was a quiet fellow, but kind, and they made of a habit of playing board games together whenever Cassia came over. Meanwhile, her aunt, Lulu, worked at a museum. She would take Cassia though tours there and sometimes even though the historical district. Sydney had become a bit of a home away from home.
Back in Perth, Cassia grew into a bright young woman. In school, she did rather well, and shrived to be the top of her class, but had a tendency to push herself. She hit a slump in her junior year, which also happened to be when discovered alcohol. However, she pushed through and decided to study architecture off in Sydney. While, she would be away from her family, it did put them a bit at ease that she'd have relatives close by to look out for her.
Uni was a time when Cassia shined brightly. She felt like she was finally able to live for herself, and even helped support herself with a part time job as a book store. She remained passionate about her studies, but she also became a lot more social. She even had a bit of a dating life. And when that all seemed to much for her, she swung around the coast. Sydney was a city that seemed endless to her, even in the small ways, she found new places, new people she hadn't seen before, despite living there for years.
One of the most important parts of Cassia's life during this time was her upperclassman Isolde. Isolde showed her the ropes, at the university and around the city and helped her live a little. Cassia found herself being a shoulder to cry on for Isolde, and a light and energy that helped Isolde out with her own battles with depression. They were thick as thieves during these years, and eventually made a promise. After they were done with uni, they'd find take a vacation off to one of the colonies, Side 6. From what they heard, it sounded like a paradise, or at least a great tourist spot. Side 6 became a sort of goal for the two and something to look forward to in their later years. However, another side got in the way of that dream.
On January 10, 0079, Cassia was on the flight back to Sydney after holidays with her folks. The news was merely announced to her on the flight, and that the plane was to stop in another city. Roger, Lulu, and the others were with her on the plane, hearing that they had lost their home. This struck Cassia as a well. She had lost her second home, as well friends, even lovers. And Isolde, poor Isolde. All of this was taken in an instant. While Cassia would keep her credits, she decided her education would have to go on hold. From there on out, her life took a major change as she joined the Earth Federation forces.
Training was tough at first, and early on made things rough for her superiors. She straightened up and got her act together quickly though, before it was too late. but Cassia found herself quickly adapting to the military. She wasn't exceptional in her training, but she did prove herself competent. This improvement from someone many thought wouldn't last a week may have itself been impressive, though. However, her mettle will only truly be tested on the battlefield.
Machine: RX-75 Guntank Mass Production Type. Info on the unit on other places says the 120mm cannons be replaced with other weapons. Will that be an option? Also, if allowed, I'd like Cassia to have Sydney and Isolde each written/painted somewhere on the Guntank. If the 120mms are as useless as I imagine, any other mobile suit will do. You can pick, even. I love the Guntank, but I also don't want my character to be dead weight.
