November 24, U.C. 0079Lieutenant Harry Shields Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 02) Hidden atop forested HillResting in a hidden position atop of a tall hill that overlooked the area below, the three Mobile Suits of the newly-christened 232nd Mobile Suit Corps' 02nd Team waited to watch the scene below them unfold. Acting on intel gained form a forward reconnaissance unit, they 232nd was moving to intercept a convoy of Zeon troops and equipment meant for what was assumed to be a counterattack of sorts in the face of their recent territorial setbacks. While the operation had initially been meant for another unit, Lieutenant Commander Julian Miller had flexed his new rank to nab the mission for his pilots. It didn't promise to be anything as difficult as what they had already experienced already but a few members of the team had some thoughts as to why Julian had done this. "This is bullshit," grumbled Harry as he ruffled his hair with both of his hands. His feet up on his cockpit's control panel, back laying against the cushion of his seat and head against the backrest, the new lieutenant was perhaps acting a little too casually given the fact that they were about to enter into a battle. Personally he believed he had a damn good reason to act the way he was. Though their position was ideal for the 02nd Team's role as a long-range fire-support unit, especially since his Gundam was in a kneeling position armed with a powerful 180mm Cannon, Harry was certain that they were so off from the action that the others would hog all the glory. "This is so typical of Julian," he said to himself, "I don't care if he's trying to see what Nathan and that new chick can do. He could've done that in a damn simulation or something. Does he really expect us to just sit by and let him and the others have all the fun? Spend so much time with the guy and this is the thanks I get."Deciding to stop talking to himself, he sat back up with a grunt and flipped a switch that connected himself to the Type-74 APC that was resting on the ground next to his Mobile Suit's feet. ++Madeline,++ he commed, ++What's the situation with our oh-so-fearless leader and the rest of team one? They in position yet?++Sitting in the communication's seat of the armored vehicle, Madeline pouted slightly at the Lieutenant's tone. While she could partially understand why he was upset about not being with Julian (not that she had ever been excited by the concept of fighting), she didn't think it was appropriate for an officer to act like a child throwing a temper-tantrum. Perhaps she was being a little harsh in her judgement but Harry had a duty to follow as a team-leader and there was no point in sounding all pissy. Clearing her throat as she tried to remain professional, she replied in the tone of a parent scolding a child, ++Lieutenant Commander Miller and team one have reached the operation area, Lieutenant. As you know our objective is to sit back and provide support should enemy reinforcements arrive on the scene or if the 01st Team requests backup. Until then the 02nd Team isn't to engage or reveal themselves to the enemies in order to maintain the element of surprise. Understood?++Kyle, leaning over the steering wheel of the APC, snickered to himself as Madeline chewed out the Gundam pilot. Having known Madeline longer than anyone else on the team, working with her even before Feddie Mobile Suits ever arrived in North America, he had become well accustomed to the MCPO's personality. Getting snippy with her would get Harry nowhere and, if anything, would actually make his life harder. As the closest thing their team had to a "mother" she could be a force to be reckoned with at times, the threatening edge to her voice being enough to cool even the hottest-blooded pilots. True to Kyle's prediction, Harry recoiled slightly at the tone of Madeline's voice. Where the hell had that come from? From everything he had seen the girl was totally cheerful and happy-go-lucky. Instead the person who had just spoken to him gave off the feeling of one saying 'don't fuck with me'. Maybe it'd be smart to revise his plans to try and woo her when they had some actual free time. Instead he turned his attention to the other pilots of his little team. Ben and Cheska were rather chill individuals. They wouldn't snap back at him. ++Oi Cheska, Ben, you guys properly calibrated? I mean, one of you is just getting back in the saddle and I don't think you've ever had to fight at ranges like this before, have you Ben? We don't want you guys missing any shots now do we?++With her legs crossed and one arm resting behind her head, the icy Russian GM Sniper pilot took a long, smooth drag of her cigarette before twisting her arm around slightly, trying to work out the residual stiffness. It had been less than a day since she had been declared fit for duty once again and she still wasn't sure she was 100%. While she'd never admit that to anyone and her impassive demeanor would make it impossible for anyone to get a read on her Cheska was slightly worried. After what had happened on her last mission she wasn't eager to get anywhere near a Zaku again. She knew that her team had dealt with that bastard Black Demon on their last Op and had avenged Claire's death but she still didn't feel at ease. That's why she was smoking in her Mobile Suit's cockpit, a cardinal sin in their Chief Mechanic's, Urachi Takeda, eyes. Raising an eyebrow as she heard Harry's question, she was quick to respond with a sly smile, ++No worries team lead. All the time Urachi spent fixing my machine after it got fucked up has it running as good as new. It's never been as calibrated as it is now. And perhaps you should try to do the same? I don't remember seeing you doing much of a pre-op check-up before we got out here.++
For his part, Harry grunted at Cheska's words. 'Perhaps you should try to do the same'. Just who did she think she was talking to? He wasn't the one who had been indisposed for so long because of battlefield injuries. Like he would make a mistake like that.... Still, despite his confidence, Harry felt a little bit of paranoia, enough to cause him to check his scopes and make sure that they were set up correctly. To everyone on the hill, the sound of the Gundam slowly adjusting the angle of its cannon would be proof enough as to what Harry found. I hate all of these guys....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lieutenant Junior Grade Nathan Langdon Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 01) Waiting to ambush along RoadIt had been less than a day since Nathan had been raised from just another pilot to a Mobile Suit team leader, charged with guiding and ensuring the survival of those under his command. Right now that consisted of none other than Caiden, a man who was more than a decade his elder and was a far more experienced soldier, and Amelia, a girl he had only just met and he doubted that she'd be totally trusting in his abilities. Hell, even he didn't fully trust himself. To say that he was feeling an enormous amount of pressure would be a gross understatement. ++You alright Nathan?++The sound of Julian's voice coming over the comm startled Nathan out of his worried stupor, causing him to jerk slightly in his seat before he quickly replied, ++Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm fine, sir. Just, you know, thinking a bit. I'll be fine.++In the cockpit of his Gundam, Julian simply smiled and shook his head. Despite his attempts to say that all was well, Julian knew what was really going on in the new LJG's head. He had been in a similar fame of mind the first time he had been put in charge of a unit during combat. Granted, the circumstances had been largely different and Julian had be leading a squadron of totally outmatched Saberfish fighters against Zeon Mobile Suits but that didn't make Nathan's concerns any less valid as far as he was concerned. ++You're worried about how you're going to do on this mission. I know it, there's no use in denying it. It's only natural to be feeling that way. Just relax and do what you always do. That's the best thing you can do for your team.++Though his words were few, far from the pep-talk that he had expected, Nathan felt that what Julian had said was a lot of help. Right now anything that the experienced pilot could say would be enough to boost his confidence even slightly. He didn't want to let anyone down and if left to his own devices he was worried that was what would happen. For now they just needed to get ready for the mission at hand. His Mobile Suit as crouched down and hidden as it could possibly be, he waited for the first signs of the Zeon convoy to appear. In the cockpit of her machine, Amelia McCampbell was nervous, though a stranger looking at her would never have known it. She had just arrived, and now here she was going into combat for the first time. Her machine was the RGM-79 GM, the first mobile suit ever mass-produced by the Federation. Equipped with a shield and armed with a pair of head-mounted vulcan guns, a single beam saber, and a 100mm machine-gun of the same type used by most of her teammates, she felt the GM could handle just about anything. "I just wish it wasn't colored such a bright red." she commented to herself, wondering why such a bright color, especially compared to the more muted tones of the colors of her teammates' machines. "Might have to ask about changing it...later."She held her position, waiting in tense anticipation. An ambush was something she had no problem with, at least as a first sortie with this new unit. At least they were firmly in position, with plenty of cover thanks to Team 2. And no need to worry about the enemy getting the drop on them. Caiden waited patiently in his suit, keeping low to prevent being spotted. The Zeon forces were bound to show up at some point and he needed to be ready to fight. Other than radio chatter, there was nothing going on at the time. He took a moment to keep his nerves in check before checkin' in. ++Amelia Darlin', I think it'd be wise to give you some advice. The moment you see the zekes, don't hesitate for a moment.++ He recommended. He knew very well what happened when someone hesitates in war. He seen first hand the ends of many lives because they hesitated to pull the trigger. He simply didn't want to see the newest member of the team to meet the same fate as many others before her. Ensign Benjamin Regard Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 2) Hidden atop forested hillNot unlike the other members of the second team, the afro-sporting pilot leaned back in his cockpit, seeking to stay relaxed for the moment they’d be called in for support. If they were called in for support. It was pretty clear that they would only step up to the plate if things were looking a little hairy for the rest of the guys down below or if some new Zekes showed up to tip the scales in their favor. If they didn’t though, team 2 would just be sitting around as unused insurance. A fine set up. It’d be even better if the wait weren’t so damn boring. If things took any longer, he’d probably doze off and fall asleep. Checking his cameras he noted Harry’s own kneeling Gundam, toting its 180mm Cannon that blew away the Black Demon not long ago, and the APC to his right while the fresh out the ward Cheska and her GM Sniper were to his left. Things were all quiet now but when the plan came up, Harry was far from subtle about his thoughts on his team’s role as the backup dancers to the main event. Ben understood where he was coming from but he would just have to deal. Or try making a fuss with Madeline over it like he was now. “And he gets shut down in three…two…bam,” he chuckled as their resident communications girl rebutted, very much in no mood for nonsense. There’d be no victories against Madeline now that she was mad. He was probably regretting it already and, true to form, was crawling back the other way for better company from himself and Cheska. Probably not the best plan either as, in a quick quip, the sniper shut him down as well. “Status? Told,” he added with a smirk, “I’m perfectly fine here, Harry. You just try hitting something close to the Zekes. Land’s been shot to hell enough as is…What’s up on your end Cheska? Feel good to be back in the saddle with the rest of us?” Benjamin Regard Machine: RGC-80 GM Cannon Main Weapon: BLASH HB-L-03/N-STD 380mm Hyper Bazooka Secondary Weapon/Hand Shield: RGM*S-Sh-WF/S-00109 Shield Sub Weapon 1: 2x 60mm Head Vulcan Sub Weapon 2: 1x Beam Saber Sub Weapon 3: 240mm Cannon

[Ens. Amelia McCampbell - 232nd MS Corps, Team 01] [Ambush position by the road, concealed in forest]"Thanks for the advice, Ensign Smith." Amelia replied, sounding more confident than she really felt. "I won't hesitate."And she wouldn't. She had never seen combat, really, until now - this was her first sortie in her first active-duty posting. She was about as green as they came. But she'd done well in training, and she was ready. Besides, she was a soldier. This was what she had signed up for. It wasn't about revenge - not really. Revenge wouldn't bring her mother back, wouldn't give her father his legs again. Though it was revenge, or the desire for it, that had driven her at least in part to where she was today, it wasn't what drove her. Zeon were the enemy, plain and simple. And she kept telling herself that she would not hesitate to pull the trigger. Whenever the Zekes finally showed themselves, anyway... Ensign Cheska Gordesky Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 02) Hidden atop forested HillTaking a lengthy drag from her cigarette, Cheska almost let out a sputtering, choking cough of a laugh as she saw the movement of Harry's Gundam. Well it seemed that the hotshot ace wasn't nearly as perfect as he claimed he was. God she loved moments like this. Though Cheska had only known Harry for a short time (shorter than even the other members of the team), she already had a fairly good idea of what kind of guy he was. Knocking down people like him a few pegs was certainly a favorite past time and helped with the monotony of having to wait for the mission to begin. With another inhale of her cigarette she finished it off and tossed the butt in the small receptacle located in her cockpit. God she needed to kick this habit. It was bad for her, she knew it well enough, but it also brought her a degree of comfort during stressful situations like battle. She knew it was bad for her health, plenty of people pointed out that it would kill her one day, but she hardly cared. As a Mobile Suit pilot there were plenty of other things that would do the job way before that. For now all she had to worry about was Urachi yelling at her for making the cockpit of her machine smell like smoke. Taking a deep breath, Cheska replied to Ben, ++Yeah, it's good to be back. I hope we get to see some action though. I'm itching to give the Zekes some payback and need to get some more practice for my aim.++Before she could see if Ben would reply, however, the voice of Madeline suddenly cut over the radio, ++Eyes on people! Underground Sonar is picking up movement coming right towards us! Here comes the convoy!++Any thought of relaxation quickly disappeared from Cheska's mind as she took on a laser-like focus. There couldn't be any distractions now, it was time for the show to begin. Reaching behind her right shoulder, Cheska pulled forward the scope/range-finder that was installed in her cockpit. Bringing to rest in front of her face, she closed her right eye and peered through the scope in order to make sure her crosshairs was set up right. "Alright you Zeke svolochi," she muttered to herself, "Come to mama."--------------------------------------------------- Lieutenant Junior Grade Nathan Langdon Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 01) Waiting to ambush along Road ++Eyes on people! Underground Sonar is picking up movement coming right towards us! Here comes the convoy!++The sound of Madeline's voice, a sound that typically brought comfort to Nathan, did no such thing at this moment. Instead it caused a cold sweat to drip down the side of his head, his hands getting clammy as he held onto his machine's controls. Oh boy....This is it....The moment of truth. He was still worried about how his debut as a team leader would work out but now was not the time to worry. No, Caiden and Amelia were depending on him to keep his head on straight. He couldn't lose his cool for their sake. And besides, Julian was close by to support them. He wouldn't let anyone die, that had been his promise and the Lieutenant Commander always kept his promises. After all, he had promised them that they'd take down the Black Demon, hadn't he? These enemies wouldn't be anywhere near that monster's level. This would be easy. ++Alright guys,++ began Nathan as he talked to his team members, ++We're going to wait until half of the convoy moves past us and then hit them right in the middle. We'll have enemies on either side of us but we'll bank on the confusion to give us the advantage and the Lieutenant Commander will be helping us from the other side. Just it back and wait for my signal. Do not engage unless you are shot at first. We can't lose the element of surprise.++
With his orders given, Nathan let out a deep breath in order to calm himself. Now all they had to sit back and wait. --------------------------------------------------- Lieutenant Roberto Caller Zeon 35th Ressuply Corps Travelling in ConvoyStanding in the open hatch of the turret on his Weasel APC, Roberto wore a content smile on his face. He was dressed in the drab-green and gold uniform of the Zeon armed forces with his sleeves rolled up to his biceps, collar open to his collar bone, dust-goggles hanging around his neck and his service cap slightly crooked atop his head. The sandy-haired officer was pleased with the progress his convoy was making, glad that they had managed to avoid any trouble so far. The potential for trouble was extremely high, after all. He knew all about the problems that had befallen the Zeon forces in North America and around the world recently, the sudden influx of Federation Mobile Suits that were starting to push them back on all fronts. The situation was certainly dire but that didn't really matter all that much to him anymore. After all, he wouldn't be here for much longer. One more mission. One more supply run to a forward operating base and then he'd be finished with the Earth. It had taken a significant amount of arm-twisting and deal-making by his parents back in Side 3 but they had finally managed to get him a new assignment back in the homeland, far from the reach of the Federation military and the risk of death. It wasn't that Roberto was a coward, mind you, far from it. He had seen his fair share of battles and was simply tired of the whole ordeal. He couldn't wait to kick back and relax back on the colonies, far from the oppressive gravity and dirt of Earth. As far as he was concerned if the Earthnoids wanted their disgusting rock so badly they could keep it. The sound of roaring jet engines maintained the smile on Roberto's face as he looked up into the sky and watches his convoy's air escort return from their refueling mission. Flying in two different wings, there were five Dopp fighters and one Luggun reconnaissance plane, it's two disk-like attachments hanging below it as it scanned the surrounding area for any signs of movement. They had been without the aircraft's' overwatch for the last hour as they planes refueled back at base but Roberto was confident that the momentary lapse was of no concern. Turning around to look back at the rest of the convoy, the Lieutenant took in the sights once again. The hart of their little column was made up of several Samson trucks with their long, flat-bed trailers carrying everything from random supplies and equipment to replacement Mobile Suits for the awaiting troops. In addition there were a unit of Zebu trucks, their backs filled with either crates or troops destined for the front lines. Besides the aircraft flying over head, the convoy also had an escort of armored vehicles including other Weasel APCs, Magella Attack Tanks, and even some of the new model Magella Eins. The pièce de résistance, however, was the sizable Mobile Suit marching alongside them. While typically they would forgo such protection in order to be less noticeable, the reality of the Federation's own Mobile Suits made them a necessity. Still, it mattered little to Roberto. They were less than an hour from the base and would soon be home free. Nothing would go wrong now and even if the Feds showed up his escorts or reinforcements from the base would be more than enough to deal with any problems. --------------------------------------------------- Map Key: W = Weasel APC MA = Magella Attack Tank ME = Magella Eins Tank Z = Zebu Truck S = Samson Truck DP = Dopp Fighter LG = Luggun Recon Plane 05 = MS-05 Zaku I 06J = MS-06J Zaku II Ground-Type 07A = MS-07A Gouf 0 = APC 1 = Julian Miller 2 = Caiden Smith 3 = Nathan Langdon 4 = Amelia McCampbell 5 = Cheska Gordesky 6 = Benjamin Miller 7 = Harry Shields

Ensign Benjamin Regard Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 2) Hidden atop forested hill
“And the best time of the day has arrived,” Ben said to himself, Madeline’s voice cutting through the chatter to signal the convoy’s approach. And right when he was just starting to get comfortable too. Strapping himself in and cracking his knuckles, Ben joined in with the rest of the team in bringing down his own scope and adjusted his mobile suit’s 240mm Cannon. After using the thing for a couple missions and hitting home just as many times, finding the sweet spot was an afterthought. But his other weapon…
A 380mm Hype Bazooka, not exactly what he was used to. Granted it was basically the same as the 240mm, albeit handheld, but it would be a first for him. At the least, whatever he hit wouldn’t be getting back up. Hell, he might even have a knack for it.
Looking into his scope, he whistled at the sight before him. “Jesus, Julian. I get we’re coming into our own and all but this is still a bit much.” He’d heard that the Zekes were falling back everywhere after the Fed’s own suits took to the field but not this many. The campaign must’ve really been looking up for them if they had this kind of effect on them. From what he could see, they’d grabbed whatever wasn’t nailed down at whatever front they came from.
Let’s take a look here…Pretty light on the air support but those Dopps can get annoying real fast. A couple Magella, a lot of trucks…Surprised they’re bringing out the older Zacks for help, he noted. Must be pretty bad. Green one with the horn is probably the lead. Annnnnd hold the phone, almost missed you back there.
He could recognize most of their lineup, aside from some things he couldn’t quite make out on the trucks, but the one hanging back behind the ground-type was a new one. Blue paintjob, way meaner looking than the rest. Must’ve been some new Zaku-type they were finally rolling out. Although, if it was here, it couldn’t have been that hot. Or maybe it was that hot and could still walk home with the rest, who knew for sure.
“Dibs on the blue Zaku.”

[Ens. She also saw a half-dozen aircraft, one of which looked to be a larger recon model, the others light fighters. She also saw four tanks and a half-dozen mobile suits. “Two Zakus, three Zaku IIs, and a new model. Is that a custom Zaku, or something else?” Amelia wondered silently. She heard Ben call dibs on the blue machine, and shrugged. The enemy was the enemy, and there were more than enough targets to choose from. She picked a target - one of the old-model Zakus - and aimed her 100mm machine-gun straight at its torso. She did not break cover, nor did she actually pull the trigger. Not yet. She prepared to engage and waited for Lieutenant Langdon’s command to open fire. “This is McCampbell.” She said in a low voice. “Standing by.”Amelia McCampbell Machine: RGM-79 GM Primary Weapon: NF·GMG-Type.37/100mm Machine Gun Secondary Weapon/Hand Shield: RGM-M-Sh-003 Shield Sub Weapon 1: 60mm vulcan gun x2, fire-linked, mounted in head Sub Weapon 2: THI BSjG01 beam saber x1, stored on backpack

Caiden observed the caravan as it began it's passing. Multiple aircraft, apcs and even zakus. They were guarding a group of trucks. He looked towards the aircraft and noted that they were positioned over the caravan. He had his target, looking towards the largest one, the reconnaissance plane. If he were to shoot that down, perhaps it would land on a truck or two. He kept himself still, ready to fire once the orders are given.

Lieutenant Roberto Caller Zeon 35th Ressuply Corps Travelling in Convoy
As the rest of the convoy came into view, Roberto brought his wrist up and glanced at his watch. They were making good time, really good time which was good as far as he was concerned. In his experience the commanders of Forward Operation Bases tended to be lunatics. Exposed as they were, paranoia typically set in after awhile and made them convinced that everyone was working against them. Any delay could earn Roberto one hell of a mouthful or worse if the commander decided to write him up a reprimand. That was the last thing he needed. "Uh...Lieutenant?"The sound of a voice coming from below caught Roberto's attention. He recognized it almost immediately and let out a sigh. Great...What is it now?Dropping down into the belly of the vehicle with a grunt as he landed in his commander seat, he turned his attention to his radio operator. Petty Officer 1st Class Franklin had been Roberto's aide for some time and the young, black-haired man had been doing an excellent job as far as he was concerned. That being said, Franklin had a tendency to bring every little thing to his attention. Sure that's what he was supposed to do but at this point he had hoped that the Petty Officer would be able to take some initiative on his own. It got annoying after awhile. Resting his chin in the palm of one hand as he gave a rather bored look to the young man, Roberto asked, "What is it, Franklin?"As pensive and concerned looking as ever, the Petty Officer slowly brought his radio-headset off of his head as he gave his superior a glance, "Well sir...The Luggun just reported that it thinks it's picking up something close...Real close."Those words were enough to get Roberto to take his aide seriously, gripping the arm rests of his chair tightly as he leaned forward, "How close?""Right next to the convoy, sir."Shocked by the idea that a potential enemy was right on top of them without anyone knowing it, Lieutenant Roberto's eyes went wide in shock. That was when the explosions began. --------------------------------------------------------------
Lieutenant Commander Julian Miller Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 01) Waiting to ambush along Road
To be perfectly honest Julian hadn't expected the Zeon convoy to be as big as it was. Sure he had known that there'd be a lot of resistance, he counted on it after all, but this? This was something else. He felt a little bad and embarrassed that this was the crucible he was throwing Nathan into for his first mission, even if he was personally excited by the challenge. His worries vanished, however, the moment that the new Lieutenant JG ordered his attack. ++Alright!++ came his voice loud and clear over the comms, ++Team 1, open fire!++Bursting from the top of the trees as his GM stood up, Nathan unleashed a barrage of machine gun fire towards the enemy in front of him. The bullets truck an unsuspecting APC and tank in the side, causing both of the armored vehicles to blow apart as their fuel and ammo went critical. The sudden attack caused a great deal of shock that was plainly visible among the Zeon troops, slowing their reactions somewhat, but Julian knew that it wouldn't last. It was time to make his move. Watching as the three Zakus in front of him turned their attention to Nathan, Caiden, and Amelia, the Australian pilot decided to take advantage of their distraction. Stowing his gun for now, his Gundam drew one of its beam sabers as it charged out of the woods and approached the nearest Zaku, a commander from the looks of it, from behind with a quick blast of his thrusters that caused it to smash through the woods that had hidden it. Placing the emitter on the Zaku's back, directly behind the cockpit, all it took was a quick flick of the switch by Julian to bring the glowing, pink beam of energy to life and gut the Zeon machine instantly. "That's one."Even as his latest kill slowly toppled to its knees and then onto its face, mono-eye fading and a bright orange hole where its pilot used to be, Julian was ready for his next opponent. Startled by the death of his comrade, the other Zaku began to turn, trying to bring its weapon to bear on the Gundam. Unfortunately the old Zaku Is couldn't match his Gundam in terms of speed and a quick upward slash of the beam saber took off one of the MS's arms and half of its machine gun with it. Down but not out, the Zaku I stumbled backward slightly and drew its heat hawk to try and continue the fight even as the remaining Zaku II to Julian's left prepared its machine gun to fire. Surrounded by Mobile Suits to either side and armored vehicles to his front, the Lieutenant Commander simply smiled. He lived for stuff like this. -------------------------------------------------------------- Lieutenant Roberto Caller Zeon 35th Ressuply Corps Travelling in ConvoyShaking like a leaf, Roberto peaked his head out of the hatch of his Weasel and tried to get a grasp of what was going on. It was utter pandemonium and chaos with a few vehicles and Zakus already destroyed while the Federation Mobile Suits seemed to be closing in from each side. Catching sight of the solitary one to the left of the convoy, Roberto felt his stomach drop. Was that the White Devil? There's no way! It couldn't be! Still, not all was lost, he quickly realized. Even if the Feddies had gotten the drop on them his escorts still totally outnumbered them and they also had the nearby garrison to come and support them. That's right! The garrison! That was it! They could still come out of this alright! Sealing the hatch of his APC once more, Roberto turned to his aide who had a look of utter terror on his face, "Franklin! Get in touch with the Forward Operating Base now!"Looking back at his commander the young man simply asked, "A-and tell them what, sir?""Tell them that if they don't want to have all their supplies blown to smithereens they better get their asses here right now!"

Ensign Benjamin Regard Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 2) Hidden atop forested hill As the time for the trap to be sprung drew close, Ben kept his eyes glued to his targeting scope, the reticle moving over the many attractive targets. From what he could tell as the convoy rolled along, there weren’t any more mobile suit escorts hanging around. Pretty good for everyone hiding down below but then again, even a tank could bring one of them down with a good shot. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that.
Switching his focus to one of said tanks, it had barely been a few seconds before it violently exploded. It was finally time…for Team 1 to get to work. Zooming out for a better view of who had started the show, he let out a whistle. Nervous Nathan had done the deed, apparently having gotten over his nerves. And then, as if on cue, their superhero Julian went into action as well, bursting from the woods like a white knight and snuffing out the commanding Zack almost immediately.
The camera swung back to the rest of the convoy. They were definitely caught off guard, probably never thought they’d run into someone this far out. If they all opened up, they could probably blow most of it to hell before they knew what happened. For now though, they’d have to sit back and watch. Until they were needed to bail them out or if someone looked to crash the party. Whichever came first.

[Ens. Amelia McCampbell - 232nd MS Corps, Team 01] [Ambush position by the road, concealed in forest]At last, she heard Commander Miller order them into action. Almost before he had finished speaking, as Nathan's machine rose from the treetops and attacked, she pulled the trigger, firing off a three-round burst aimed dead center mass - straight at the Zaku I's cockpit. Without waiting to see if her attack struck home, she goosed her controls and her GM rose, instantly turning its machine-gun on the nearest APC and letting loose another three-round burst from her 100mm machine-gun. Ens. Caiden Smith- Team 01 Forest south of road.
Caiden remained calm before checking the situation. The enemies were now alerted and were approaching both them and their superior. This left him with multiple targets. He trusted Amilia with the tank and Gouf. This left him with either the APCs or to take advantage of the surprise and aim to destroy the trucks. Weighing his options, he decided to go for the APCs first. He took aim and fired on the two APCs to his right. If he successfully dispatches them, he would then take a shot at the trucks in order to destroy the potential supplies they contained.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Nathan Langdon Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 01) Engaging Zeon Convoy The surprise attack by the Federation Mobile Suits had succeeded in shaking up the members of the Zeonic convoy but it didn't last long. Most of the spacenoid soldiers were experienced veterans who had been fighting since the beginning of the Principality's invasion of Earth and had experienced incredible hardships. They weren't green recruits who would turn tail and run at the first sign of danger and the realization that they still well outnumbered their attacks gave them another boost of confidence. They would not go down without a fight. Caiden's burst of fire succeeded in taking out one of the Zeonic APCs, high-caliber rounds shredding the armor like paper and blowing it apart. Before any other vulnerable vehicles could face a similar fate, however, the three Mobile Suits in front of the 01st Team quickly closed the distance between them and their Federation opponents. Amelia's three round burst struck home and damaged the chest armor of the Zaku I but failed to cause any serious harm. Still fully functional as she turned her attention to the APC at the head of the convoy, the Zeon pilot realized an opportunity when he saw one and wasn't going to miss out. With a quick blast from the thrusters on its back, the Zaku I was on her in seconds. Armed with its machine gun in its right hand and a knuckle-shield in its left, it threw a vicious punch that would catch directly on the surface of her shield, creating a large dent on its surface. The sheer force and momentum of the strike would also throw her GM back, causing her aim to go array and leaving her in the dangerous position of winding up flat on her back if she didn't do something to save herself quickly. At the same time Caiden and Nathan likewise found themselves under immediate threat from the remaining Zeon machines. Drawing a bright glowing sword, the new model Mobile Suit charged towards Caiden with speed that far surpassed that of a Zaku. Seeing that the GM's weapon was pointed towards the vulnerable APCs and trucks behind him, the blue machine swung its weapon and aimed for the wrist of Caiden's machine, hoping to rob him of his weapon and one of his hands with one move. Nathan watched as all this was happening, grunting as his machine shook at the impacts of the charging Zaku II's machine gun rounds on his shield. Things were quickly spiraling out of control, it was obvious to him. On the other side of the road Julian was being surrounded by enemy machines while his team had suddenly become swamped in a series of one-on-one duels. TO make matters worse, he could see the Zeonic tanks moving into position, readying themselves to pick off the Federation pilots even if they bested their Zeon opponents. While he hated to admit that he had screwed up, Nathan knew that letting his pride get the better of them could result in one of his friends being killed. He couldn't let that happen. ++Team 02,++ he shouted over the comm even as he swung his shield to knock away the incoming swing of the Zaku's Heat Hawk, ++Requesting immediate fire support! Give us some room to maneuver!++------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ensign Cheska Gordesky Earth Federation 232nd Mobile Suit Corps (Team 02) Hidden atop forested Hill++You heard the man,++ came in Harry's voice to Cheska and Ben, ++Let's get to work boys and girls. Ben, see if you can plant a few rounds on those tanks massing to the left. You don't got to kill them all but at least break them up. Cheska, how about you even the odds for our fearless leader? Oh, and keep an eye out for those planes. They'll probably circle back and try to strafe us once we show our hand.++Twisting her neck to loosen up her muscles, the Russian pilot smiled and said, ++You got it boss-man,++ before getting to work as asked. Focusing in on the battle taking place down by the road, she quickly found her target. Julian was turning his attention to the Zaku II on his right, he was leaving himself open to the Zaku I behind him. Sure the machine had already been damaged but it was getting ready to take out the Gundam from behind with a overhead chop of its Heat Hawk. "Not so fast, scumbag."With a pull of the trigger, the GM Sniper Custom fired its high-powered beam with pinpoint accuracy at its target. The spear of bright pink energy struck the Zeonic machine directly in the side, boring a neat hole directly through where the cockpit would've been. Losing its footing due to the impact, the Zaku I collapsed onto the ground beside the road where it detonated in a brilliant blast as it's reactor went critical that vaporized the Weasel APC that had chosen to get too close to the Mobile Suit. "Night, Zeke."

Ben grinned as Harry’s voice came in, loud and clear. ”Been waiting for that, boss." He had hoped to see Nathan’s team do some more work on their first outing but life threw a curveball today. Those Zekes bounced back mighty quick and were already on them before they knew it, especially that blue one. Even the commander type Zakus didn’t move that fast. It may have looked the part but it was definitely no Zaku.
Switching his focus from the blue one, he found the tanks that had trailed behind the convoy and, just like Harry said, they were all moving in. They knew an easy target, alright. Caiden was tied up with his own partner and would likely get blown away or sliced up in short order. Maybe both. Good thing he was up here with a bead on every one of them and a lot of ordinance to play with.
“Let’s bring the noise.”
With the reticle centered on the lead pair of tanks taking position and a pull of the trigger, the 240mm Cannon fired its first round into the air before adjusting its angle for its second target, the Magella behind the two and firing once more. It may not be as precise as a rifle but with the kind of firepower it was packing, it didn’t need to be. Even a near hit would be enough to mess them up.
“Gotcha.”
